Gerrald Ellis joined Schlanger & Schlanger, LLP as an associate in August 2011. Gerrald’s practice focuses on consumer protection and commercial contract disputes.
Gerrald comes to us after completing a Dean’s Fellowship with the Feerick Center for Social Justice where he worked on consumer protection issues, including FDCPA litigation, and collection defense. During his time at the Feerick Center, Gerrald worked extensively with the Bronx branch of the Civil Legal Advice and Resources Office (CLARO), a weekly walk-in clinic providing free legal advice to debtor-defendants sued in New York City’s courts.
Gerrald also spent five years with Arnold & Porter LLP in both Los Angeles and New York City, where he worked as a paralegal and then law clerk on matters ranging from medical malpractice defense to financial regulatory investigations.
Gerrald graduated from Fordham University, School of Law in May 2010, and he received his undergraduate degree cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2004. Gerrald sat for and passed the New York State Bar Examination in July 2010, and he is currently pending admission to the Bar of the State of New York.
